Don’t forget your PPE! We’re not talking about a face mask, though. It’s true that face masks have spent a lot of time in the news lately, and they’re considered to be Personal Protective Equipment, or PPE. However, when we say “don’t forget your PPE!”, we’re speaking in broader terms.
PPE is a simple and important tool in keeping yourself safe while doing projects around the house. If you’re a child of the ’60s, ’70s, or ’80s, you may be used to just grabbing the weed whacker, chainsaw, power drill, axe, or some other tool, and just getting to work. But we’d like to encourage you to think about grabbing some PPE, too. Take a second to think about the task that you’re about to do, and then think about the ways that you could be injured or otherwise negatively impacted by that task. Then, think about what kind of PPE you’d need to keep those things from happening to you, and use it. You’ll be glad you did!
